Since David Dick joined the team as the Senior Manager of the South Resident Killer Whale Monitoring program in June, he's been busy working hard to bring the W̱SÁNEĆ Marine Guardian Program to life. Over the last 6 months, the WLC has been working with the communities of Sidney, North Saanich and Central Saanich to develop policy recommendations to include in their updated Official Community Plans. In June, the municipalities of Central and North Saanich and the Town of Sidney hosted a W̱SÁNEĆ members community forum to learn about Indigenous concerns and hopes for the future of W̱SÁNEĆ territory.
