The Respect for All Relations (R4AR) is a 4-year research project to explore the relationships of the W̱SÁNEĆ people with the natural world — including lands, islands, waters, salmon, deer, plants, trees, and celestial elements (such as the 13 moons).
It seeks to understand aspects of these relationships, including W̱SÁNEĆ concepts of personhood of our non-human relatives, and then to analyze how existing Western legal tools do—or do not—recognize and honor these relationships and rights.
This information session will provide you with an overview of this project and an opportunity to participate in, and help guide, the research.
