Background:

• The W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council (WLC) is an organization that was created to provide a space for W̱SÁNEĆ leaders to come together to discuss topics that are in common and relate to the broader territory of W̱SÁNEĆ. 
• The WLC researches and provides information to W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership on topics in which they have chosen to collaborate with each other. 
• The WLC’s goal is to ensure the people’s voice is both communicated to leadership and informs the work we do. The WLC accomplishes this goal this through our committees and community engagement sessions. 
• The WLC recognizes that the voices of our youth are unique and necessary and to engage effectively we need a Youth Advisory Committee to lead the way

Purpose:

• To identify and discuss topics that the Youth in W̱SÁNEĆ would like leadership to be addressing,
• To provide opinions on a variety of topics that the WLC is working on,
• To implement youth initiatives
• To provide future leaders with learning opportunities regarding the opportunities, challenges, history, and operations of W̱SÁNEĆ and the WLC.
• To help the WLC create a vision for the future of the broader W̱SÁNEĆ territory.

Expectations:

• A minimum of 4 meetings per year *to be determined by youth advisory committee*
• Additional meetings may be requested but not required.
• To share your ideas and to be an advocate for the future of the W̱SÁNEĆ people and territory.

Honoraria:

• $100.00 per meeting
