In 2024, Pender Island School requested a copy of the SENĆOŦEN Territorial Map, which documents the traditional W̱SÁNEĆ homeland in what are now called the Southern Gulf Islands. In April 2025, WEC’KINEM (Erik Pelkey) presented a replica of the map at the Pender Elementary and Secondary School. This ceremony was witnessed by five W̱SÁNEĆ Elders, W̱SÁNEĆ guests, as well as School District representatives and the entire student body.
