On August 26th, 2025, W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council (W̱LC) gathered community members from all five W̱SÁNEĆ bands – MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout), W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), and W̱SIḴEM (Tseycum) at SELE₭TEȽ. The gathering was held to raise awareness of the fact that SELE₭TEȽ, where Goldstream Park is located, was never surrendered, to celebrate the salmon and W̱SÁNEĆ ongoing presence at Goldstream, and to hear from speakers about threats to SELE₭TEȽ (Goldstream River).
