The W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council is pleased to announce the creation of a new entity that will be able to provide economic opportunities for W̱SÁNEĆ community members. 

After months of research and hard work, the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council has partnered with Sangan Resource Management (SRM) to create a new business entity, K’ENES Transportation. Leveraging SRM’s expertise in engineering, logistics and experience in environmental stewardship, K’ENES is working on securing long term, stable contracts on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland. 

K’ENES Transportation will be providing trucking and hauling starting this fall. This business will allow us to support organizations and businesses in our territory and provide jobs and training for our people. Through discussion with our community leaders and Elders we have chosen the name K’ENES (whale) for this venture. Providing responsible waste and construction transportation helps redirect and reduce ocean dumping and overall pollution.

In preparation for commencing full-time operations, K’ENES Transportation has several economic opportunities that are immediately available for community members.

Logo Design Competition:

K’ENES Transportation needs a logo to place on bins, trucks and communications materials. All W̱SÁNEĆ artists are encouraged to submit a design for K’ENES. The winning design will be used for all of K’ENES related business and the artist will receive $1500 for their work. The submission deadline is August 14th.
